Chapter 1: The Anatomy of a Transfer

A "Domain Transfer" specifically refers to moving a domain name from one ICANN-accredited registrar (like GoDaddy or Namecheap) to another registrar (Domzivo). This process is highly regulated by global authorities to prevent domain theft.

Because it is heavily regulated, an external transfer is not instant. It can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 7 full days to complete, depending entirely on how fast your *losing* registrar releases the domain.

Chapter 2: Transferring a Domain INTO Domzivo

We have streamlined the inbound transfer process to be as frictionless as possible. Here is exactly what you need to do.

Step 1: Prepare the Domain at the Current Registrar

Before Domzivo can even attempt to pull the domain, you must unlock the door from the inside at your old registrar:

1. Unlock the Domain: Log into your old registrar, find the domain, and toggle the "Registrar Lock" or "Transfer Lock" off.
2. Disable WHOIS Privacy: Some older registrars require you to turn off WHOIS privacy before transferring. If the transfer fails, try this.
3. Obtain the Auth Code: Request the "Authorization Code" (also known as an EPP code or Transfer Secret). This is a highly secure password that proves you own the domain.

Step 2: Initiate the Transfer at Domzivo

Once you have the domain unlocked and the Auth Code in hand, come back to Domzivo.

1. Navigate to the Transfer Page.
2. Enter the domain name you wish to transfer.
3. Enter the Auth Code you received from the old registrar.
4. Add the transfer to your cart and checkout. Note: When you transfer a domain, ICANN requires that you pay for a 1-year renewal. This year is ADDED to your existing expiration date; you do not lose any time you already paid for!

Step 3: Wait for Approval

Once paid, Domzivo sends a request to the central registry, who notifies your old registrar. Your old registrar will usually send you an email saying "We received a request to transfer your domain." They often include a link you can click to "Approve Immediately". If you don't click it, the transfer will still go through automatically after 5 to 7 days.

Chapter 3: Internal Domain Pushes (Instant Transfers)

If you want to transfer a domain to someone else who ALSO has a Domzivo account (for example, you are a developer handing over a website to a client), you do NOT use the external transfer process.

Instead, you perform an Internal Push. This process is 100% free and happens instantly.

How to Push a Domain

1. Log into your Domzivo Dashboard.
2. Go to My Domains and click "Manage" on the domain.
3. In the Quick Actions sidebar, click Push Domain.
4. Enter the exact email address of the receiving Domzivo account.
5. Click Submit. The domain is instantly removed from your account and appears in theirs.

Warning: Domain pushes are irreversible. Ensure you trust the recipient and have double-checked their email address before pushing.

Chapter 4: Transferring Out of Domzivo

We hate to see you go, but we believe in open ecosystems. We never hold your domains hostage.

To transfer a domain to another registrar, simply go to your Domain Management page, click "Domain Lock" to disable the registrar lock, and then click "Get Auth Code". The code will be emailed to you immediately. Provide this code to your new registrar to initiate the pull request.
